Most Indian bricks come from zig-zag or FCBTK kilns — open coal firing, seasonal operation, heavy smoke. A tunnel kiln moves bricks slowly through a continuously fired tunnel with fuel blended into the clay itself. The result is cleaner, more uniform, and never stops for the monsoon.
Continuous firing
The kiln fire never goes out. Green bricks enter one end and finished bricks exit the other, giving every brick the same controlled heat curve.
Internal fuel
Fuel is mixed into the clay body itself, so combustion happens inside each brick — dramatically cutting external fuel use and stack emissions.

India fires hundreds of billions of bricks a year, most of them in seasonal, coal-hungry kilns. Sauga Bricks Private Limited was incorporated in December 2019 in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, to prove there is a better way — a modern tunnel kiln that runs clean, runs year-round, and makes a better brick.
The technology
Our plant runs an internal-fuel-based tunnel kiln developed with technology from CBRI (Central Building Research Institute) and PSCST (Punjab State Council for Science & Technology). Fuel is blended into the clay body, so each brick fires from within as it travels through a continuously heated tunnel.
Because the process is enclosed and continuous, it avoids the open coal firing and heavy particulate emissions of zig-zag and FCBTK kilns — and it doesn't need to shut down for the monsoon.
Non-polluting process Year-round operationTested, not just claimed
Our emissions have been independently tested by CBRI Roorkee, and the plant operates with valid Consent to Establish (CTE) and Consent to Operate (CTO) from the state pollution control board, classified explicitly as a tunnel kiln.
Sauga Bricks is an ISO-certified company and the only brick manufacturing unit to hold an industry licence — a level of formal recognition and process discipline that is rare in this sector.
